Sooo, I send my iBook into repair at www.crcentre.com which is a small repair centre outfit in London. Met the guys who would be working on my laptop at the London Expo and they seem to have a good deal on no repair, no fees and a free courier service.
Ok, they receive my iBook last week on a Thursday. I give them my home phone, mobile phone and address. I even include them on a note inside the laptop. The guy tells me he’ll get back to me the next day. Next day no-one rings. Another day goes by. I ring them up at 10:30, supposedly an hour into their opening time, and the number is diverted to his mobile number. He’s in the car. I ask him whether he’s looked at it. No he says. I ask why not. He says he hasnt had time yadda yadda yadda….
This goes on until today, me phoning up and him giving excuses. Today I got my dad to phone up and deal with it. The guy lies and says I didn’t give him my details. Then quotes me a £400 repair for the logic board when I KNOW IT’S NOT THE LOGIC BOARD!!! I know it’s just the lcd because it’s been sharing it’s airport connection to my eMac for week after i broke it. Anyway, the guy tell me to email him even though the last 5 emails I sent to him I didn’t get a reply. I’m gonna end up having to drive up to London and pick the goddamned thing up.
Overall the shitest experience with techs I’ve ever had… Any recommendations for a decent repair centre in the London/Kent area?
PS, my iPod got repaired last week, 2 day turnaround, perfect job. If only this was that easy.
