I know most of you don’t give a shit about sports but one of the upsides of going to UO, is I’ve gone to a LOT of Football and B-Ball over the years (seeing lots of now pro athletes put in work, and Freddie Jones, Luke Ridnour and Luke Jackson still makes me misty eyed when they went to the sweet 16) but anyhow, long story short…. UCLA is ranked #1. Number in the nation just isn’t something that happens much. UCLA went to unbeaten, and the Ducks were off to their best start since 1939, 12-1, recovering after a home loss to USC. So the #1 team and the #16 team squared off. It wasn’t the greatest game I’ve been to, as seeing Luke Jackson sport 50 points in the NIT, catch a no look over the back alley-opp that was the play of the week on ESPN all in one game still out ranks but it was fucking crazy.
Yea, there really isn’t anything like the thrill of a huge upset by your school. While the bball and football teams weren’t always great when I was at UVa, they definitely had some memorable games. I remember rushing the field a couple of times for football, and rushing the court several times for basketball, particularly after beating Duke my freshman year (the year after they won it all), and Maryland my sophomore year (the year after they won it all). Good times…
I actually was kind of rooting for Dallas in that game, just because I think they are a slightly better team, and I think the Seahawks suck and don’t deserve to even be in the playoffs. Such a crazy ending to that game though…gonna be a looooooonnnnggg off season for Dallas.
On another note, I can’t wait until the Pats kick the Jets ass in about 45 minutes!
Also, I agree with the sentiment that this forum needs more sports.
Man, if anything, this forum needs more sports. I watched the Colts and the Seahawks games last night, DOWN WITH DALLAS!!
Oh snap, I watched the highlights from the Seattle game, that was friggin’ amazing. Looked like a great game. Best football game I watched this year tho’ was BSU vs Oklahoma State. MOTHERFUCKIN’ Statue of liberty! Anyone else see that shit?
Maybe a sports sub forum is needed. I know we probably all watch different sports and follow different teams but I wouldn’t mind it. All my sports loving friends have graduated and moved on so only person I talk sports with is my dad and bro. I’m a causal fan. It interests enough, but I just find Baseball/Golf boring as hell.
Man, that Seattle/Dallas game had the sickest ending I’ve ever seen. Such a shame that guy had his toe on the line during that safety. It was a superhuman move that totally deserved a TD.
I’m a big University of Texas Longhorns fan. Right now we have a defending national championship football team that sucks major balls. Our basketball team is decent, but it has a ton of freshmen. Our best player, Kevin Durant, is rated as the top freshman in the country and probably would have gone to the NBA right out of high school if they hadn’t changed the rules.
Greg, is that short person with the white backwards cap you?
Nah, I’m not pictured, I’d be to the right of that mess in reality. I looked for myself. I did get in front of video camera but they cut the Gonzaga game so no one saw me. Too Bad, I thought I was on national TV again. I’d be a short guy with a brown hat on.
