I guess I haven’t really posted anything about what I’m working on, but I figured I’d brag a little bit now because we’re in a handful of magazines this month, and are starting to release more media.

I’m working on a game called Frontlines: Fuel of War for the 360/PC/PS3, and you can see some fresh screenshots here. We’re also the cover story in the new Games for Windows magazine (there’s a 2 page spread on one of my levels in the mag), and we also have a spread in the march Game Informer (on store shelves, Blue Dragon cover).

So anyway, be on the lookout and make sure to pimp frontlines to your friends :D

We’re shooting for lower requirements then Rainbow 6: Vegas (the only other Unreal Engine 3 PC title so far: I’m not counting roboblitz), but it’ll still have relatively high requirements.

Vegas’ reqs. are as follows:


  * Windows XP
  * Pentium 4 3Ghz or AMD equivalent
  * 1024MB RAM
  * 128MB 3D Video Card DirectX 9.0c compatible
  * DirectX 9.0c compatible
  * CD/DVD-ROM Drive
  * Mouse
  * Keyboard

Nothing has been finalized yet, though.

Unf! The tactical fighting part looks sweet, and I saw some walls breaking up and other neat environmental destruction stuff. What’s the story behind the game (if you’re able to reveal such things)?

20 Years in the future the world’s oil supply is dangerously depleted, with remaining reserves mostly centered around the Caspian. Tensions flare and a conflict breaks out when the Red Star Alliance (a fictional Chinese/Russian organization) attempts to seize control of a Western Coalition (EU + America, essentially) oilfield.

It escalates into a full scale war. You are in control of a member of the Stray Dogs, a WC company that happens to be working the guard shift when the conflict starts, and ends up being an important factor in the war.

We won’t be featured in any book clubs any time soon, but I do think there’s some interesting pseudo-political ideas underneath it all.

Nah… well, not as much. They’re normal human size, and are supposed to be more like a typical army unit then the GoW style hulks.

That’s good. Gears of War’s character design really pissed me off for no good reason other than I thought the people looked stupid.
