I sense a general apathy about our hallowed forums rising. Is this sentiment of collective indifference noticed by any others than me. I cite a lack of new topics, and most new topics die after 3 or 4 posts, a lack in interest in cybernations which is Bork’s guilty pleasure and lie to ourselves we will, we all know we are addicted and that is why we are here anyway. Elaborate Borkers and Unite!
Also Apathy is the name of a very dope MC, I was hoping on the outside chance, someone else recognized Ap, as he’s one of the being doing it at the moment, and after Eastern Philosophy and his new CD that’s a UK release with Celph Titled, I’m seriously hoping his major label release tosses him every CD store across the nation.
Wes adds “Bork needs to take on new members if its ever gonna survive.” I seriously say WoW really cut into some of our core posters its all consuming. Everyone including my roomate, says they don’t play it too much, but I think if you’re catching offense, then you’re guilty my friend.
I concur with Greg that its been declining for a while.
I think a lot of it has to do with dumbass posts that either hijack the thread or add nothing and are totally irrelevent. Over time it just kind of kills the spirit of the forums.
WoW has taken its toll as well.
I think some people haven’t grasped when it’s okay to be silly and when you should post seriously in a thread. I know we don’t have guidelines on this or anything, just most of us that have been here since the beginning intrinsically know.
Edit: Cybernations is not why we are here. That is a recent addition, and I’m still disgrunteled that it got a whole forum to itself. WoW has far more people on the forums playing it but you don’t see it getting its own forum.
I think what we have is a general lack of grasping topics… we don’t talk about anything because we don’t find anything to talk about. It feels like there isn’t happening that much in the world that we seem to care enough to talk about.
And don’t even dare to blame WoW for the forums being silent. There’s hardly any of us playing it anymore…. just me and Lovisa. Even Jim is quitting now.
Man, you’re all so negative. So what if the forums haven’t had a lot of action as of late? The community definitely isn’t falling apart, as most of it is in #DoB nearly 24/7, chattering away. Even Ludvig still joins us, you dirty slackers with lives.

I agree with teh Whaelma’am here, on both counts. I quit WoW a month or so ago (though I’d actually stopped playing it months before).
For anyone still in college, it’s getting close to the home-stretch before summer. This is of course, Easter weekend.
And yes, don’t blame WoW, because no one from these boards plays it anymore except Johan and Lovisa (or those who do, play on other realms which I’m unaware of). Myself being probably the last hold out. I would say, expect one last post about WoW from me later.
I actually intend to make a sort of “comeback” both here and #dob.
There’s been a bit of focus shift over the past year from forum to chat, and the forum only members like myself see it as a decline. I can’t comment on the state of the chat room as I’m not there, aside from what I read about it on the forums and the additions to bork that are chatroom related. So there has been a decline here… at the forums.
I’m with Greg - I’m an old school forum prowler and not an IRC chatter, so the decline is more readily apparent to me. Chat seemed to be more fun back in the #img days. From what I’ve seen of #DoB recently, it’s high school kids cracking penis jokes all the time (no offense to high school kids) and mods kicking people for stupid reasons.
I think the forums have been slightly more lively of late, with people actually posting things in the gaming section. Perhaps we just need to try playing games against each other more often? Marathon, Unreal Tournament, or Warcraft 3 or something.
