Now that there’s been a proliferation in streaming video services, time to make another thread.

Please, this is for music videos that are truely the shit, not just because you really like said band. Let’s keep this with quality ie no copy that floppy or crazy Indian videos.

I’ll start off with some stuff I think is truly fucking awesome.

Muse - Knights of Cydonia - Originally from the fucking awesome video thread, purely great epic song, makes a strong bid for best video EVER.

Yelp - Volentary Sacrifce - As a musician you can only pray that your music is cool enough to have base jumping footage accompany it.

Public Enemy - Fight the Power - How can you argue with Chuck D? This is one of the most famous music vids as Spike Lee directed it. What started as a video shoot actually turned into a protest with 20k+ people rallying.

A-ha - Take on Me -classically 80s and completely great visuals, and it still holds up today. That’s what’s crazy

2pac featuring Dr. Dre - California Love  - Its hard not to like a $1.9 million dollar video that references Mad Max beyond Thunderdome. This shit was off the hook in 96

Tanya Morgan - We Be - You don’t have to be on a huge budget to make a badass video, ask indie Hip Hoppers Tanya Morgan. This “myspace” themed vid is refreshingly original and dope.

Awesome idea

Most of the music I like doesn’t have a video clip, but this is one I’ve always thought was neat

edit: Oh, oh, oh, also awesome

Okay, first off, TOM JONES IS PURE MAN.

Secondly, the BASE jumping video rocked, as does Knights of Cydonia (I bought that one off the iTMS).

Thirdly, three contributions of my own:

Move Your Feet by Junior Senior - you like phallic imagery, you say?

Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley. For god’s sake, it’s Rick Astley.

The Old Man of the Mountain by Cab Calloway, which is actually a Betty Boop cartoon. Ebbe and I discovered this last week, and it has since been bookmarked as one of the Greatest Things On the Internetâ„¢.

Crazy Danish music galore!

Malk de Koijn - Vi tager Fuglen PÃ¥ Dig The only Danish hip-hop I care about. Too bad the kicking lyrics are lost on you all. *warning: contains bootay*

Kashmir - The Cynic - Kashmir have a lot of incredible videos under their belt. This one has some awesome visual design, unfortunately the quality of the video is nasty. *Warning: Contains David Bowie*

Kashmir - Rocket Brothers - More Kashmir. Defenitely one of their best. *Warning: Contains robot porn*

The curse of being a girl - This is a powerful meraphor on life, and how we react to it differently. And it has hot chicks. *Warning: Contains nipples*

D-A-D - Bad Craziness - And finally, some awesome 90s rock’n'roll courtesy of Denmark’s answer to… beats me. *Warning: Contains claymation*

I sense a love for music vids that are 2Dish from Ebbe.  I wanted to see Cynic so I got pissed off at YouTube suck and found a watchable copy

Kashmir - The Cynic without YouTube Suck

While digging I found this Kashmir vid to be more exciting, the rollercoaster one even with brief nudity was boring…
Kashmir - No Place like Balance

I remember that Junior Senior vid and thinking “This video seems to have a homo-erotic subtext” but c’mon Rick Astley,? That video was dumb.

Wu-Tung Clan - Triumph - They just don’t make videos like this anymore with retarded amounts of visuals. This video has one the best intros ever, “There’s a man on top of a skyscraper”. Some of the parts a little corny

They also did a cover of John Lennon’s Imagine with a pretty sharp video.

Thank you for that insightful commentary Jep, and ruining Rage Against the Machine for me.

I meant to post this in my last post after watching Intergalactic. (I always liked that video for its Godzilla oddness)

Beastie Boys - Sabatoge - You really can’t not bring up Sabatoge when talking about great vids Overplayed? Yep but it deserves it. I never dug the actual song but damn if that video wasn’t fly as hell. Good ol’ Spike Jones.

I guess I can post some more of what Greg referred to as “scandiavian love of death metal”... which isn’t even close to what either a perfect circle or tool is… but anyways…

Ænima - Tool. Tool has a history of rather disturbing clay figure music videos… something that’s only partly appearent in this one that is by far the most esthetical one and one that I find disturbingly pretty. If you find this disturbing you should really not look up the others wink

Weeeeird.

Awesooome, and thanks for the high-quality version, Greg.

UNF UNF

This video raises so many questions, and answers none! Why is there a giant couch in back of them? Why does that man have a plastic garbage bag taped to the end of his guitar? Are they even singing the song that’s playing?!

That is amazing. The flaming motorcycles are clearly the best part.

Also, the Tool videos are creeping me out. I’m not sure I’m going to click on any more of them that show up in this thread oh oh

Just to freak Ross out, I post some more. Much because Tool and A Perfect Circle really do very special videos.

3 Libras - A Perfect Circle. This one is probably the least creepy video they have… if you don’t count the Bikini Babe Squad videos… but I actually find them a lot creepier myself.

Weak and Powerless - A Perfect Circle. One again they strike as the prophets of positivism. I’m faschinated by the extreme sense of uncleanliness most of the Tool/APC videos have… I’m not sure what people did to Maynard as a kid…

No kidding.  That is the first thing that pops into my mind when I think of awesome music videos.  That can fill an entire top 10 list all on it’s own.

I agree as well, Weapon of Choice is classic.

The Daft Punk vid always strikes me as one of those crappy anime edited videos. The Cold play video got raped by Youtube. I was looking for a higher quality version as I wanted to see the visuals going on. Anyone know any?

Also Muse - Knights of Cydonia DVD rip - it should be done uploading by the time anyone reads this post.

I bought it on iTMS but this copy kicks the crap out of it.  I figured Raws and few others would appreciate it.
