...Ramblings about Pirates by Greg…

Oh man, Pirates 2 sucked. So, so, so incredibly bad. I loved the first, and it still makes for an excellent drinking game, but the second seemed to ruin everything that was good about the first. I’m not even going to bother with the third.

Of course, most of America seems to have disagreed with me here though…

Bah I say! Pirates 2 was a fun action/adventure movie that never took itself too seriously. Good stuff.

The second sucked compared to the first. It basically rambled on for 2 and a half hours going nowhere. I’ll wait for 3 to come out on DVD.

I heard Pirates of Cambodia 2 was much like Matrix 2. With that analogy, I balked. It’d be hard to wreck a series worse than that…. aside from making a prequel trilogy.

Comparing Pirates 2 to the Matrix 2 is insane. Pirates 2 is like the Empire Strikes Back.

Whenever we’re talking Pirates (without of), is it assumed we’re talking about this movie?

THat movie was on IGN as it was the first X rated movie edited down to an R rated movie. I think its like half as long. I find that amusing as I’ve always wondered what a Porn movie would be like without the porn. Now if I ever get so curious, I can rent it at Blockbuster.

Anyhow, I was picking up Eugene Weekly, our free independent mag and Spider Man got a 1 and half stars. I think that was about right for it.

To say it fizzles doesn’t quite drive the point home: It may be the worst film any of its stars have ever made.

Ah, love hippies… for even interjecting interpretation of racial tones into the movie.
