Apple confirms in its retail stores that you can no longer access Myspace. Sounds fair.

Totally. Having worked at an apple store for a few years, I can definitely say this is a good idea. People using the store as a place to get some stuff done on the web was great: people would see other people using the machines. People using it in a pinch when they had some video/design/music production need: also great. They’re good customers who need a working system in a pinch.

Kids monopolizing the highest end system in the store for huge amounts of time: it was common, and a hindrance to real customers and employees.

We’d actually fuck with them from the bar on slow nights. Install remote desktop and do all sorts of little things to make them crazy. Take over the mouse, lock the computer, make it tell them to stop crewing around in it’s lovely computer voice. That sort of stuff.

Ah, good times be-had. Used to do the same sorts of things to other kids in high school with amazingly Windows 95 and Novell. Now if only I could’ve made the computer talk too that would’ve been sweet.

Yeah, bravo to Apple for banning MySpace. In my opinion, it’s just nothing more than keeping class and high fidelity as part of the experience in the store. So depressing and disgusting rather to see anyone browsing that awful site filled with horrid web code, ugly backgrounds, and annoying music.

Awesome. Although I don’t visit any mac stores, I hate myspace, so that rocks.

Sucks for your parents though
