Tom was recently awarded the Freedom medal by the Church of Scientology. Watch the ceremony here. These videos have been reposted in one form or another on youtube several times, as the Church of Scientology has issued take-down notices with youtube. I lifted these links from an SA thread.
I found his crazy scientologist rants funny until I remembered my friend who attempted suicide twice because she was unmedicated bipolar II. Scientology is wicked dangerous, yo.
Edit: All of the clips, except the first one, have fallen victim to the CoS’s legal teams. Here is a link to the videos.
If you want an idea of what the Abrahamic religions look like to outsiders, this is pretty close.
I had a feeling you’d say something like this. Is it possible for you to ever contribute something to a thread? All you do is troll, derail, and generally lay shit on every thread you touch. Tell me why I shouldn’t delete all your posts and ban you.
Jordan is absolutely right. Why don’t you go ahead and let the forum know you’re faith wikiwes so we can all tear apart what you believe. Oh wait, as the only open Christians in the forum Jordan and I, because of our beliefs, would be above writing comments that we know would insult other’s beliefs. If you intend to be a decent human being how about being open minded about the faiths of others instead of a narrow minded pig. And I swear to my God, the God of Abraham, if you go wiki the definition of beliefs, Christianity or pig to try and respond back its only more ammunition for the already pissed off admins, who don’t think to highly of you already, to give you a nice shiny boot.
We don’t attack your beliefs, you shouldn’t do it either. This nice practice is called tolerance.
All I know is that I have no respect for anyone that says they are a Scientologist - even a good friend or relative. They can go fuck themselves. Dumb shits.
Preaching tolerance in a thread created to attack the faith of Scientologists… that’s rich.
This has nothing at all to do with tolerance. Wes, I don’t care if you insult my religion, it’s not like this is the first time you’ve done it. I just ignore you, because you’re only trying to get a rise out of me. I’m just sick of you constantly trolling the forums, and derailing threads of any topic with your need to prove your intellectual superiority, no matter what the subject is.
Can you try not to be a condescending jerk every time you make a post?

Man, that’s sort of harsh don’t you think? Some of the boldest words I think I’ve ever heard coming from you of all people Kevin. God knows even the cold brittle heart of Dick Cheney must still have some love for his daughter who is a lesbian.
That’s like saying I hate all Muslims because the few radicals and extremists want death to America. Like saying I hate all gays because they practice same sex marriage. Just seems rather intolerant. Sure we poke fun at just about any religion. Every faith or belief has its quirks, oddities, evangelists, radicals, life-stylers, things we might just as well doubt.
Even if I was to say I don’t consider scientology a religion from my point of view, I can’t deny that there are people who really take it seriously as much as any Christian, Muslim, or Jewish person takes their faith seriously. Even if they hold intolerance toward me because I don’t agree with their principles. I could NOT say I would NOT respect their beliefs. Their beliefs are what they uphold as true, even if I don’t agree with them personally. Even if truthfully their basis of faith is corrupt. Even if it’s a lie. I couldn’t just NOT respect them as a person. (Apologize for the double negative, but you probably get what I mean)
Anyways this could be debated endlessly. I try to respect everyone’s religion or faith or really for who they are. Ultimately it is by acts for which society judges people. Really, I can’t knock a person for just what they think is true. It’s a just a shame the media distorts the acts of a prominent few and places that image over the rest of the collective whether it be good or not. Sadly, it’s usually negative.
Didn’t Will Smith just switch over to believing in scientology? Even if he did, I’ll still respect the guy as a person, as an actor. It’s not like I absolutely hate his guts now that he’s changed something about what he believes. That’s his choice.
Just trying to throw that out there as someone who believes in philosophy.

Certainly we need to respect their right to believe as they wish, but for what purpose do we need to respect their actual beliefs? If Scientologists want to believe in the story of Xenu, or if the Christians want to believe in the story of Noah, certainly that’s their right, but why shouldn’t I feel free to laugh at both? If someone believes their religion justifies abortion clinic bombings, slavery, or denying basic human rights to gays (or heretics), should I respect that too?

See there’s a difference between scientology and other things. Scientology is dangerous, and based on things Jordan showed me today, just plain scary. They aren’t preaching peace and love like most, but make people pay money for “audits”, make people avoid psychiatrists and medications (even when people need either very much). Christianity, Islam, etc. are only dangerous when people take it to an extreme. Scientology IS dangerous.
