Good stuff. I do remember having listened to a few of them before as you said. Some new ones though…

I liked “Clear Target.” Upbeat, fast tempo. Especially the last 1/4 of the song where the rhythm changed. Sounded cool!

I also loved “Coal.” It reminded me constantly of Aliens vs. Predator game, playing as the Marine with the alarms going off all around you in the beginning. And again, the beat changed midway through creating a nice effect as I try to visualize something when I listen to any music.

Nice job.

Hey, Benny. Again, nice stuff.

What software do you use? I’ve already noticed you use AKG mics and a Behringer board.  So what audio interface, main app, soft synths, plug-ins and so are you using?

Just curious, because I kinda want to get a Mac and run it as a DAW…

Feel free not to answer this if it’s a business secret wink

As for me, on my PC, main app for songwriting is Cubase SX 2.01. Main app for tracking and mixing is ProTools LE 6.1 (w/Digi001 hardware interface). I use SampleTank XL 1.0, Native Instruments Guitar Rig 1.1, Waves C4 compressor and some outboard stuff (DI-boxes, DG-STOMP guitar preamp, wah-wah and such).

Also got digi-adapted versions of Reason, AmpliTube and T-Racks but I rarely use them. T-Racks EQ is rather ok, so I use that sometimes… nice “telephone effect”.

Mic is el-cheapo-but-still-doing-it’s-job Shure SM58. Planning on getting a condensator eventually…

I use a real variety of things. Lets see…

Reason 2.5
Ableton Live 4
NI Pro 53
NI Absynth 3
Zero-G Altered States (the audio unit version)
Novation V-Station
Wired: State of Trance refill
Groovemaker I use for very quick tracks. Its just a loop machine really, fun to mess with though. Better than g-band.
NI Guitar Rig (Trust me, use this and the FX presets on anything that sounds as if it needs a boost… works wonders)
Vintage Warmer VST
Steinberg Plex
Steinberg Xphrase
And last, but not least…

A power mac g4, dual 1ghz 8)

my aim screenname is in my profile, so if you ever need a hand or just general advice, send me a message. I’m taking time off from my own music currently, so it’d be good to do something different for a change!

Yeah, Guitar Rig kicks butt. My favourite plug, next to the C4. Apply C4 on anything and *ka-booom* - great sound!

l’m even considering using Guitar Rig on the drum track on one song to get really thrashed drums!

I will probably contact you later this week. I’m a bit curious on how much virtual instrument prestanda you could squeeze out of a Mac, since raw number of tracks is rather uninteresting for a bedroom musician like me…

(plus, for tracking, I already can get more software tracks than the 18 hardware ones I’ve got, so…)

Just thought I’d update…

Selling all my audio gear, except my speakers. So, thats it for me. Haven’t done a trackin over a year, and it wasn’t fun for me anymore. Plus I am an unemployed student and need money :p So, thanks to those that liked my music and enjoyed it while it lasted!
