I don’t know about the rest of you guys but I struggle to keep up just this and IMG.  I ain’t too sure about having to do dealings on a third forum when all of us already talk to each other on the previous two I mentioned.  Especially since this one is already ideal for XBL discussions.

For those of you not in the know that is basically sword-whoring and pissing off every sword basher out there. I myself cannot take credit for coining the term, this award belongs to an fervent sword-basher who screamed profanity at me in a team skirmish game. For those of you who practice this art in head to head mode, ask your opponent before the game starts if he minds that you use the sword. If he says no, then cheese it as much as possible to screw up his concentration.

God I love XBL.

I’ve never understood why some people seem to loathe sword use so much.  It kind of reminds me as the Man With The Golden Gun modes in the classic N64 FPS GoldenEye.  Whoever is clever enough to find the only sword on the map first gets a huge close quarter advantage over everyone else, but they’re far from invincible and once they’re down that sword is back up for grabs.

If anything, it makes the games more interesting.

The sword can be pretty tough to stop in inside levels at times, but for the most part all you need is a shotgun, or duel-automatic weapons to take down a sword user.

My friends and I use the sword alot (from playing too much Swordball) So we’ve found the best ways to take down the Sword Junkies.

I will not be joining you guys this evening. I have to go to a Christmas party in addition to the fact that my brother’s wife is in the midst of delivering their first baby.

XBL game tomorrow guys, start-up time 2pm Central. I posted this on our Bungie site, and I’ll say it here so everyone can read it. In fact, go to the site now and read the news update for clarification.

We are now no longer using our Bungie.net site’s forums. They’re too slow and cumbersome. Therefore, we will move all forum discussion here, just like how we had it on IMG. However, all news, XBL updates, game times etc. will be posted on our bungie site, so don’t forget to check in on the site daily, as I won’t be posting news here.

I agree with Zack, the Bungie forums are horrible. Zack had asked at the end of his news post what our next XBL game should be so I thought I would put my 2 cents in. I know what you’re thinking, it’s not like me to offer up an opinion. Just this once

What happened to, “when Halo 2 gets here it will own me”. We hardly ever play it! (together anyway) How about we focus on what we have and try to get people to show up rather than run out and buy another game just to have people not show up to play it.

I agree with Zosorand, what’s the point of adding yet another game to our lineup when only a subset of the group (of which maybe half will show up when it’s time to play) will get it anyway? If EA has worked the kinks out of Burnout I am very much in favor of playing that and Black Arrow has so far mostly collected dust on my shelf. In addition to those two I already have Battlefront, Ghost Recon 2, OutRun2 and Underground 2 which I wouldn’t mind putting some playtime into if someone else happens to have either. Then there’s obviously Halo 2…

Now I know I haven’t been there enough myself, but attendance during the last couple of weeks games have been incredibly lame. Weather I’ll show up or not today remains to be seen, I have an exam tomorrow afternoon which I have studied for far less than I should have. Then again I’m starting to feel there’s no point in even trying anymore when already in the 11th hour.

I will be on tonight around 5:30 - 6:00 EST. Hope to see you guys on.

Sorry I haven’t been on the past couple of weeks. With exams and visiting relatives the past couple of weeks have been pretty hectic. I will be on this Friday, which just happens to be Christmas Eve!

As for other games, the only one I would really like to play on Fridays is Halo 2 since it’s a helluva lot better than anything else. I may be getting Ghost Recon 2 for my birthday tomorrow (beware, I’ll be driving).

P. S. I would assume that most of the people that are in college (Aaron, Grundle, etc.) and others are visiting relatives right now.

I would agree that Halo 2 would be best.  Its really the only game I have (I got Crimson Skies with X-Box starter kit, haven’t tried it, and I have madden, but that doesn’t make for a good team game).  I probably won’t be able to make it much this Friday…most likely going to Church around 4 or 5…

Just as a tally, who is going to be on this Friday? If most people can’t perhaps we should play on Thursday?

Thursday is probably I good idea. I’ll try and be on.
