[quote author=“Ged”]You going for the epic PvP mount? I nearly died trying to get to rank 12, can’t imagine how hard it is to get High Warlord.

The mount is at rank 11, we’re rank 10. We don’t have that much trouble getting there since we’ve been picked up in a collaboration of high ranked players that plays in premade groups.

Question is if it’s really easier for horde or not. We have it a lot easier to get into BGs, but we have to get into more as well. We have to get 2-300k honor a week, the person aiming for HWL about 500k a week… while I have yet to see an alliance character with more than 280k. I need to inspect Xael or Xethis some day though… their premade should rank in tons of honor.

2 weeks of work hell have started to let up a bit, I should be back online a bit more…

still need to get a new computer, but hey, made it to level 53 on this old dual G4 tower, should be able to get the rest of the way to 60.

It’s late and I think this is hilarious for some reason. For your viewing pleasure, I give you… an electrified floating chicken.

P.S. Since the DoB guild eroded to nothing (even though I still keep my alt in charge for bank storage) and I’ve grown tiresome recently of first-person shooters, I just wanted to say I am an officer (ambassador to DoB) in Thud and Blunder (a really great group of people, some of whom I’ve known longer than before KoA) if should anyone ever return looking for me in game some evenings.

I’m really digging Blizzard’s astronomical changes in last 4 months or so since I’ve resumed playing WoW over the winter. It’s really refreshing, especially since I never did over half the shit Burning Crusade had to offer after I just gave it up last year. It’s surprising how fun this game is again a year later with just the right tweaks and balance to keep you from getting frustrated. Small dungeons, easier to get decent stuff that doesn’t require the hassle or lengthy commitment. Challenges that are more strategic rather than obvious same-old, same old. I like how things just take less time or are more abundant. Better rewards and quests are there for the more committed folks, but the gap for how you go about it in different ways is significantly reduced. I just don’t have the time or patience like I used to. At least now it’s much more friendly to people like me who just want something cool, maybe not the best, but at the same time not have to work tirelessly for it.

Hell as of 2.4, they’ve even started throwing in mini-cinematics for some dungeons. Just the addition of built-in voice chat support alone gives WoW that XBox Live community aspect. It brings a sense of achievement in a gamerscore-like feel and the built-in voice chat even makes working with pick-up groups a much easier experience (provided they’re not assholes). Of course, I wouldn’t be playing again if a small contingent of my local friends (former DoB guild regulars) wasn’t also, so there you go. Move with the social network I suppose, but I’m enjoying it casually for now.

Ah, not that anyone cares, but I saw Ross’s post about wowkoa.com expiring in 3 days. So long KoA, the best of times and worst of times. I’ll miss it.

Yeah, I’ll definitely miss the old days of KoA. Most fun I’ve ever had on alliance save from the few pure Bork runs we got to make.

The worst thing is that I haven’t thrown a single snowball at Xael in more than a year!

I want DoB back…...

Played in with it for a few months just Setheroth, Andross, and I (friends of mine once in DoB), but we all came to a conclusion it’s hard to play in a guild with less than 5 people on regularly…. It’s still there physically managed by my Dreanei (who I do play with from time to time.)

Don’t mean to sound like some spiritualistic free thinker, but the guild (as a whole) is really no longer. However…. the essence, and by essence I mean people, live on in Thud and Blunder. Ffej and Phatima are some of the nicest, outgoing folks I’ve had the pleasure to meet back during old BRD and alot of other great people. We’re really laid back, casual folks who just help each other out and joke around. Hell I’m the guy who has to crack the occasional Chuck Norris joke, sexual innuendo, or compares everything to scenes and quotes from movies, runs my priest drunken (blurry screen) through Karazhan. We’ve actually never cleared Karazhan yet, but we’re really close (2 bosses away) and I’m having fun. We do heroics, and heck even some old world stuff like AQ20 and ZG if people want to go. Can fly through those places usually.

I’m there, Jon and his aggro bear are there, people I mentioned above are there, Suzzie’s toons and her brother’s are (now) there, both of my toons (Avalonis and Sanserif) are Officers there as liaison to DoB and it’s members to invite, and everyone is welcome.

P.S. Jon insists I make a Kevin’s mom joke whenever possible, for old time’s sake. wink
