I had a chance to play with a student’s Dell player.

Two words:  Monkeyshit interface.

I’m prepared to argue that those are indeed two words.

Dell DJ’s always looked to me like oversized milky white soap bricks…

Wow, I just learned something today, it wasn’t until this year Sony added Native MP3 support to its flash based media players. And Sony wonders why the fuck it lost the portable market?

LETS MAKE A NEW FORMAT TO REPLACE VHS!
LETS MAKE A ANOTHER NEW FORMAT TO REPLACE VHS!
LETS MAKE A NEW FORMAT TO REPLACE CDS!
LETS MAKE A NEW FORMAT TO REPLACE DVDS!
LETS MAKE A NEW FORMAT TO REPLACE CD-RWS!
LETS MAKE A NEW FORMAT TO REPLACE COMPACTFLASH!
LETS MAKE A NEW FORMAT TO REPLACE MP3s!

Yes, these were ALL real products, some you may be able to point out, some you might not be. Sony is the king retarded for properitary formats that never catch on. My personal favorite to this day is Memory Stick, it costs 2x as much as CompactFlash, offers absolutely no fucking advantages (actually slightly slower) and only thing that supports it are a few Sony Cameras, DV Cams, a few TVs and their Flash based MP3 players.

Wes asked me about the DVD format replacement. It took a little digging but I found the proof.

The rest of those are Betamax, 8mm, Minidisc, Dual Density CD-RWs, ATRAC and like I mentioned, my favorite…. MEMORYSTICK!
